Location: Small Primary School near Tiverton
Contract: Part-time, long-term (potential for permanent)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3.30 PM or 8.30 AM to 1.30 PM

Time plan Education are recruiting for a welcoming and nurturing primary school located near Tiverton. The school is dedicated to providing a supportive learning environment for all their pupils and their dedicated team is passionate about ensuring that every child reaches their full potential. We are currently looking for a compassionate and skilled EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their reception class.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a temporary cover EYFS Teaching Assistant to support a small group of children with Autism Spectrum Condition, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing emotional and developmental support, focusing on communication and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the teacher in planning and delivering engaging activities tailored to the needs of EYFS pupils.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to children with SEN needs, fostering their social and emotional development.
  • Implement strategies to promote positive behavior and effective communication among pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and share insights with the teaching team.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils at all times.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with EYFS pupils with special educational needs .
  • Understanding of ASC, ADHD, and SEMH and strategies to support children with these needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • A caring and patient approach to supporting children's learning and development.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable but not essential.
