The Role:
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Deputy Head Teacher to join our leadership team. As Deputy Head, you will work closely with the Head Teacher to lead the school in achieving outstanding academic and pastoral outcomes. You will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the school, enhancing the quality of teaching and learning, and supporting staff in their professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Assist the Head Teacher in developing and implementing the school's vision and strategic plan.
- Teaching & Learning: Oversee curriculum development, monitor teaching standards, and ensure high academic achievement across all key stages.
- Pastoral Care: Lead on student welfare and behaviour management, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Staff Development: Support the professional growth of staff through mentoring, performance management, and continuous professional development (CPD) initiatives.
- Data & Assessment: Monitor and evaluate student progress and implement strategies for improvement.
- Parental & Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community, enhancing the school's role in the local area.
- School Improvement: Play a key role in driving forward school improvement plans, ensuring high standards in all areas of school life.
About You:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Significant leadership experience in a secondary school setting, ideally as an Assistant Head or Deputy Head.
- Proven track record of improving teaching standards and raising student achievement.
- Strong understanding of the latest developments in secondary education, curriculum, and assessment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
