Cover Supervisor (Secondary School)
Location: Crosby, Merseyside
Contract: Term-time only Full-time
Start: ASAP until the end of the academy year (17th July 2026)
An oversubscribed and successful 11-18 Church of England secondary academy in Crosby is seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join its supportive and forward-thinking team.
This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced Cover Supervisors looking to gain further classroom experience in a positive secondary school environment.
The role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects
Maintain a calm, purposeful learning environment
Manage behaviour in line with the school's policies
Support pupils to stay engaged and on task
To be considered for This Role, you must have:
Previous experience working with secondary-aged students, or experience managing groups of young people in a professional setting (preferred)
Confidence in managing classroom behaviour
An enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for a new one)
A full, up-to-date CV
A minimum of two professional references
The legal right to work in the UK
An overseas police check (if applicable)
Qualified Teacher Status is not required for this role.
Pay rate
Up to 110 per day, depending on experience
