Job Title: Construction Skills Trainer
Our client, a rapidly expanding leader in Skills Bootcamps, NVQs, and Pre-Employment Programs, is seeking a Construction Skills Trainer. This role focuses on delivering CITB-accredited Civil Engineering courses and other construction qualifications to both employed and unemployed learners. You’ll work across a variety of environments, including on-site, in training academies, and through online platforms. Additionally, you may provide support to the Profiling and Desk-Based Training Teams. This position is based in Sheffield and involves regional travel, with expenses fully reimbursed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver Quality Training: Provide engaging and practical training at Levels 2 and 3, ensuring learners acquire the necessary skills and meet their qualification goals.
- On-Site Instruction: Travel to employer locations to deliver both group and individual training sessions tailored to workplace needs.
- Support Learners: Offer guidance and support to learners in their workplaces, ensuring they stay on track and motivated.
- Progress Monitoring: Use the OneFile e-portfolio system to monitor, document, and update learner progress, ensuring timely completion of all requirements.
- Reporting & Documentation: Generate monthly reports on learner progress and complete all necessary administrative tasks to comply with funding and regulatory guidelines.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in regular team meetings and standardisation sessions to improve training delivery and share best practices.
- Ensure Safety & Welfare: Prioritize safeguarding and ensure all learners are supported in a safe and inclusive environment.
- Compliance: Maintain adherence to all Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety policies, ensuring fair and accessible training for all learners.
What We’re Looking For:
- Industry Expertise: Demonstrable experience in the construction industry is required.
- Training & Assessment: Experience in construction training or a strong interest in developing these skills.
- Digital Literacy: Familiarity with e-portfolios, such as OneFile, for tracking learner achievements.
- Workplace Training: Experience delivering training within workplace settings, with an ability to adapt to different learning environments.
- Strong Communicator: Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and engaging learners.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to tracking progress and ensuring all documentation is accurate.
- Adaptability: A positive attitude and ability to manage workload under pressure.
- Travel Prepared: A full UK driving license and your own vehicle, with a readiness to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS or equivalent).
- NVQ Assessor qualification (e.g., A1, D32, D33, TAQA).
- Level 2 qualifications in construction-related fields.
- Maths and English qualifications at Level 2 or above.
