Training and Development Officer - Business Services

Purpose

To be responsible for and manage a caseload of learners ensuring that they make expected progress, develop new knowledge and skills, and achieve their programme in a timely manner.

Deliver high quality teaching and learning, information advice and guidance and engage with their employer and other key stakeholders to support the learner in achieving their goals.


Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing a caseload of learners to achieve all aspects of their apprenticeship programme including the end point assessment by:

Providing engaging teaching & learning activities to learners by a variety of face to face and remote methods e.g. classroom, workshop or online

Ensuring teaching and learning is delivered to meet external regulations including Ofsted, ESFA and awarding organisations.

Developing and maintaining positive relationships with learners and their employers, providing regular guidance, support and progress monitoring

Working in-line with the organisations KPI framework and target achievement rates.


To effectively manage the learners programme you will need an ability to:

Tailor the learning experience in line with their identified starting point, including initial assessment outcomes , accredited prior learning and experience, learning styles and the learner’s job role and career aspirations

Be responsible for the learners development and timely achievement of functional skills, English, Maths and ICT skills, either by delivering it directly, or liaising with their specialist tutor.

To effectively engage the learner and employer you will need an ability to:

Establish eligibility criteria is met and the chosen programme is suitable for all new learners based upon their job role and future aspirations – ‘Right learner, right program’.

Work closely with employers to understand their requirements and to ensure training is scheduled and delivered effectively to ensure learners progress through the programme

Represent the values of the learner’s employer and our company through training delivery


To effectively manage quality and performance you will need an ability to:

Ensure your teaching, learning, assessment delivery and all associated tasks meets the standards required by our company, the awarding organisation, ESFA and the employer

Ensure the learner ePortfolio and other records reflect an authentic learner journey and meets the requirements of the end point assessment criteria in line with compliance and quality standards

Ensure all external testing and invigilation procedures and guidelines are followed

Ensure that all learners are given fair access to teaching, learning and assessment and that the welfare of all learners is fully supported including safeguarding, Prevent and British Values develop learners core skills of maths, English and digital skills from their starting point, regardless of whether they are doing formal qualifications e.g. Functional Skills

Manage your own continuous personal development (CPD) and maintain a record of this.

Attend team meetings and training as required to ensure up to date quality standards are maintained.
