Purpose of Role:

To develop a career within learning and development, working in the childcare sector.

Developing skills within teaching and learning, gaining experience in advising, teaching, assessing and supporting learners to achieve their chosen qualification on time and with a high level of quality, this includes liaising with the learner’s employer. To maintain an effective caseload of learners whilst adhering to all Company practices and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete all training and development work involved in achieving a fully qualified Trainer Assessor competency.

Responsible for ensuring that new learners meet the eligibility criteria and are suitable for the programme of choice in terms of their current job role and future aspirations.

Effective time management and diary planning, including allowing for cancelled appointments and rescheduling, such that all learners on caseload have at least one effective visit per month.

Take an active part in monthly caseload reviews, where you will be presenting the current state of play and give solutions to any issues you may have encountered.

Be responsible for the management of a caseload and ensure that all learner aims are accurate from the start of programme and any APL, RPL and concessions are uploaded onto the E-Portfolio in a timely manner.

Successfully progress learners through their programme, working towards a timely achievement.

TAs need to ensure that assessments are recorded to reflect authenticity and should strive to be of the highest assessment standards. Authenticity can be assured through the use of a DVR, Realise's preferred method of capturing assessments.

Delivery of weekly teaching and learning webinars using delivery models to ensure these are highly effective and deliver high levels of learning.

Carry out assessments on learners which are valid, reliable and authentic and in line with awarding organisations requirements.

Take part in observations of teaching, learning and assessment and use any action plans to develop practice.

Maintain effective industry CPD through reading and research and practical, on job experience.

Work closely with your Quality Assurer, ensuring that your standard of assessment delivery is reflected throughout the learner journey and associated paperwork is of the standard considered to meet SFA and Realise best practice standards.

Ensure that the learner portfolio reflects that of an authentic learner journey and is in line with Compliance and Quality Standards.

Work with a minimum of 15 learners whilst training moving to a minimum caseload of 40 learners once qualified.

Work towards and sustain a minimum of 75% achievement rate.

Ensure unfunded learners are kept to less than 5%

Ensure all learners are visited monthly and missed visits are kept below 5%

Responsible for building and maintaining positive working relationships that meet professional standards with all learners, employers and any other external contacts.

Demonstrate excellent customer service skills understanding needs and concerns and offer support and guidance in respect of the assessment process and the values and culture of Realise.

Ensure learners questionnaires and surveys are completed in a timely manner as requested by the company

Ability to demonstrate sector experience and competence having worked in relevant environment
Intermediate IT Skills


NVQ Level 3 in relevant sector; or equivalent
