Purpose

As a Trainer Assessor in Child Care you will be passionate about inspiring learners to achieve their goals and aspirations using your own experience and knowledge of the child care sector.

You will be able to deliver up to level 5 in Childcare as a minimum and be confident to deliver all stages of the programme from initial engagement, meeting with prospective employers and learners, use a range of teaching methods and techniques to suit individual learners and deliver all aspects of the Apprenticeship provision.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of learners across the region
Deliver a range of Childcare qualifications potentially up to level 5
Tailor the appropriate solution for the learner, ensuring they have a positive experience and develop their interest and confidence in Childcare making a real impact on the children and young people in their care
Use e-portfolio system to manage the learner journey
Core Skills

Ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people, employers, managers and other professionals
Ability to work through and with others for the benefit of young people
Ability to problem solve, innovate, plan, organise, overcome barriers and implement solutions effectively
Able to form confident professional relationships with young people
Ability and willingness to respond positively and effectively to change and innovation
Ability to plan and manage own workload, achieve agreed targets and objectives and evaluate outcomes
Organisation and planning skills to ensure that activities are planned properly and records/paperwork completed to deadlines

Able to travel to work from locations outside the normal work base as may be required
Flexibility and willingness to vary and change work schedule working both onsite and remotely

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

Assessment Qualification (TAQA/A1/D32/33)
NVQ Level 3 in Child Care; or equivalent
Significant sector experience
Teaching qualification (minimum L3)
Previous experience of working remotely
IT competent with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience in managing your own caseload
Experience in building a caseload
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people: colleagues, external partners and agencies
Good organisational skills
Ability to work flexibly and on own initiative
Ability to meet deadlines
