37 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

An opportunity has arisen to join our Engineering team at Blackburn College.

Responsible to the Head of School - Science, Engineering & Business ­­­­­­­­you will facilitate teaching support to enable effective delivery of the Engineering curriculum within both Electrical / Electronic and Mechanical Engineering subjects.

You will be required to provide day-to-day co-ordination of the workshop and the technical and teaching facilities needed to ensure effective support is provided to both staff and students.

The successful candidate requires experience in operating a range of relevant equipment, instructing and developing practical forms of delivery in an Engineering context. Comprehensive IT skills, particularly a sound understanding of any simulation software or using computer software to control physical equipment is essential.

Qualified to a minimum of Level 2 in Engineering you will need to have the ability to advise students and liaise with teaching staff in relation to specific training and learning needs.

Knowledge of health and safety issues within the Engineering environment and commitment to ensuring that the highest standards of Health & Safety are adhered to is essential as will the ability to work on your own initiative as part of a team.
