Pastoral Team Leader and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead Student

(Maternity cover up to 12 months)

Hours: Monday to Friday 37 hours (full time)

Start Date: September 2020

Are you passionate about enabling independence and resilience in students? Do you believe that young people can and should achieve, despite barriers to learning?

We are a specialised and highly motivated Student Support team who focus on positive outcomes for young people, supporting them to attend, stay on course and achieve. We are looking for a Team Leader who can really make a difference in leading a team of 2 Student Advisers and 2 Attendance and Engagement Co-ordinators in delivering pastoral support provision and monitoring attendance.

You will have an understanding of the barriers to learning that may be faced by students, experience of working with people with complex needs and knowledge of further education settings and support agencies. You will also be qualified to level 3 in Safeguarding and have a thorough understanding of key legislation on Keeping Children Safe in Education.

You must be able to work flexibly and have an organised approach, conducive to managing a caseload of students and liaising closely with curriculum departments.
