Due to ongoing expansion, this organisation has a new vacancy for a Lean Manufacturing Operations (LMO) Apprenticeship Skills to join their team.

This is a home and field-based role, traveling the location/s of the Apprentices. This role will mainly cover sites in East Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. 

As a Skills Coach you will have responsibility for the delivery and assessment of LMO Apprenticeship programmes and will be working with some of the largest manufacturing employers in the UK.  You will be responsible for a caseload of Apprentice learners who you will coach, train and monitor in terms of their learning and progression throughout the duration of the programme.


  • Deliver classroom-based and/or remote 1:1 sessions to Apprentices associated with their subject specialism against the apprenticeship programme and level.
  • Continuously improve and update teaching resources within their remit and capabilities subject to internal quality assurance.
  • Use a range of teaching and learning techniques to engage and motivate learner success, achieving a grade 2 as minimum in all OTLA’s conducted.
  • Provide Apprentices with support in the classroom and remotely on a 1:1 basis, ensuring monthly minimum interventions are achieved
  • Assess Apprentice achievements and provide detailed feedback to support ongoing improvements
  • Support and deliver functional skills English and maths at the appropriate level
  • Effectively measure the development of knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout the learner journey
  • To ensure each Apprentice is following the agreed programme and schedule, delivering high standards and achieving learners in line with their expected end dates.
  • Mentor Apprentices to achieve and learn professional skills required for the work place in line with the appropriate Apprenticeship Standard/framework
  • Adapt delivery and assessment to meet the broad range of learning needs including the needs of those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
  • Monitor the progress of the Apprentices within their caseload, all learners must show positive progression across their programme each month.
  • Maintain appropriate tracking systems and procedures relating to quality, compliance, management and assessment in line with AO, Apprenticeship Standards, and all other regulatory requirements
  • Maintain professional knowledge in the subject/sector specialism and models of curriculum development. Attend training courses to further your personal development and knowledge


  • Appropriate subject specialism qualification at level 3 or above (Lean Manufacturing)
  • Hold or be willing to work towards the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational (TAQA L3). A1 D32/33 acceptable providing practice/CPD is up to date.
  • GCSE Grade C or above English and maths
  • Previous IQA experience and qualification(desirable)
  • Rated as ‘excellent’ as a Trainer evidenced by learner feedback (desirable)
  • Functional Skills English and maths Level 2 (desirable)
