Due to ongoing expansion, this organisation has a new vacancy for a Subject Specialist in Healthcare Cleaning Operative Apprenticeships to join their team.

This is a home and field based role, traveling the location/s of the Apprentices. We are looking for a Midlands based candidate, and the role will involve regional and potentially some National Travel.

The Apprenticeship Subject Specialist will be responsible for the curriculum design and programme delivery of the Healthcare Cleaning Operative apprenticeship standard.  Ensuring programme intent, implementation and impact meets EIF expectations. Delivering a high-quality programme that surpasses stakeholder expectations and strengthens knowledge, skills and behaviours across the sector. 

Applicants must have experience of delivering training around cleaning practices and regulations and possess an extensive work history (5 + years) in the sector, along with being COSHH and RIDDOR trained.

THE ROLE

  • To create an engaging 12 month learning programme that inspires and motivates learners to improve their knowledge, skills and behaviours in the field of cleaning.
  • Develop a flexible learning programme that accommodates group delivery and 1-1 delivery, offering a digital learning platform in addition to traditional face to face learning opportunities. 
  • Deliver monthly, knowledge-based learning modules in accordance with the IFA assessment guidelines. 
  • Conduct regular assessment of learning through workplace observations and professional discussions. 
  • Create bespoke learning plans for each individual learner to stretch and challenge their ongoing development.
  • Quarterly review of learner progress to ensure learners are progressing in line with their individual learning plan, ensuring timely achievements. 
  • Regular gathering of stakeholder feedback to ensure satisfaction levels are high and learner engagement is maintained. 
  • Ongoing curriculum review to ensure it is innovative and impactful.
  • Embed functional English and maths into the curriculum, ensuring upskilling in both key areas.
  • Use of the OneFile e-portfolio system to evidence and log all learning interventions, demonstrating the ongoing progress of each learner throughout their programme duration. 
  • Deliver in accordance with the standard operating model, ensuring compliance with the ESFA funding guidelines
  • Prepare learners for their end point assessment, conducting mock assessments to ensure readiness. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

  • 5+ years’ experience of working in the Healthcare Cleaning sector (Essential)
  • Experience of delivering formal training around cleaning practices and regulations (Essential)
  • Experience in writing programme content (Essential)
  • COSHH and RIDDOR trained (Essential)
  • English and Maths at Level 2 or above (Essential)
  • A formal teaching qualification (Desirable)
  • Assessor qualification (Desirable)
  • Strong teamworking, attention to detail, planning, time management and decision making skills
  • I.T - Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages (inc MS Office) and systems relevant to the department in order to: write emails, record and analyse data. 
  • Good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms.
