Hours of Work: 29.6 hours a week across 4 days

Fareham College are seeking to recruit a Head of Teaching and Quality to lead on the College's Teaching & Learning Strategy to achieve excellent teaching and learning. We are looking for someone to actively promote and develop strategies for embedding and facilitating innovation in all aspects of teaching and learning and the curriculum and a strong lead on quality improvement and assurance across the college.

Primary areas of responsibility include :

* Lead on the development, implementation and review of the College's Teaching & Learning Strategy, providing annual development plans for improvement
* Lead on the development and implementation of ILT, ensuring teaching staff have ample opportunity to access appropriate training and support to make the most of the innovative teaching and learning technology available to them.
* To coordinate and manage all aspects of the College curriculum quality assurance arrangements and external verification processes
* Managing the departmental and course level self-assessment process and systems, ensuring timely completion to enable the production of the annual self-assessment report for approval and sign off by the SMT/Governing Body.
* Establish, manage, review and evaluate a cycle of internal and external quality reviews.
* Contributing to managing the interface with Ofsted, QAA and audits for external agencies.
* Design and implement the College's periodic staff development days. Ensuring that training available has a direct and differentiated impact on teachers practice.
* Manage the College's iLRC facilities and develop and co-ordinate the College's strategies for Directed Independent Study, blended learning and support for academic study skills.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate experience of observing and developing Teaching & Learning and experience of Quality Management. They will also need current knowledge of Ofsted expectations and awarding organisations.

Applicants need to have a relevant degree or equivalent and a teaching qualification with experience of teaching. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of quality improvement procedures and processes relating to teaching, learning and the curriculum within the FE and HE sectors.
