We are seeking to appoint an experienced Resource Technician and Practical Instructor in Animal Care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering practical sessions for a range of students to gain industry skills within the animal care department, as well as monitoring and assessing them according to BTEC and City and Guild standards. They will also provide day-to-day care for a wide range of animals kept by the College. Additionally they will be responsible for supporting and resourcing the teaching of animal care including maintaining practical facilities and animal areas.

The ideal candidate will have experience of caring for a range of rodents, exotic animals, birds and farm-stock on a day-to-day basis, knowledge of the correct hygiene and cleaning procedures for the animal unit and associated areas, as well as awareness of Health and Safety issues with regard to own duties and the Animal Unit.
