Role Title: Accessibility Manager - Birmingham Type: Permanent Full-Time Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 pa

Intro: S Knights Recruitment are proud to be recruiting for an Accessibility Manager.
This is for the largest sporting and gaming event that the West Midlands has seen. You will be part of the team that brings this monumental event to the West Midlands in 2022. In July 2022 there will be approximately 6,500 athletes and team officials from 71 nations and territories across the Commonwealth will come together in a 12-day celebration of sport and culture. The events will take place across Birmingham and the West Midlands, entertaining more than one million ticketed spectators and reaching a global broadcast audience of more than one billion.

Role and Responsibilities:
- The purpose of the role is to adopt a proactive, leadership position on issues of accessibility.
- The role will require engaging and managing stakeholders, including organising and managing consultation with agencies that support people with disabilities and developing a response to any stakeholder requirements or standards for accessibility.
- Further, there is a requirement to develop a methodology to demonstrate Birmingham 2022's commitment to
accessibility
- Develop and champion the adoption of accessibility methodology, monitor, audit and report adherence to the methodology
- Be the Accessibility expert both internally and externally
- Develop innovative access ideas which add value and can be integrated into each Functional area operational plan.

Experience and Skills:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Hands-on' professional experience of accessibility issues across workforce, venues and transport in large scale projects.
- Demonstrable experience of working with Investors / Leaders in Diversity Accreditation
- Experience working with Disability Confident Accredited Employers
- Be a recognised expert in the field of Inclusive Design.
- Detailed working knowledge and practical understanding of the relevant accessibility technical standards
- Experience in supporting multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience of other major event accessibility programmes would be a considerable advantage
