The Role: Learner / Student Support Coordinator

• Some learners find some aspects of an apprenticeship scheme or upskilling difficult. Maybe they are struggling with their functional skills or maybe the project or task they have been given is proving a challenge. Therefore, we are looking for a sympathetic person to whom the learner can turn who will source support for them.
• You will be a point of contact for learners to whom they can turn. It will be your responsibility to identify the problem and then find the relevant person who can help solve the issue. As a levy paying client it is vital that learners complete their training and apprenticeships and this role is to ensure that barriers to learning don't prevent this.
• Supporting the Quality Manager, you will be their right hand in ensuring a high-quality service is being upheld, ensuring compliance within the department is adhered to at all times, working alongside the delivery teams, external supporters and other departments within the business.
• Accountable for reviewing, assessing and managing the needs of learners who require additional support to complete their qualifications. This will involve devising individual Learning Support Plans and liaising with the relevant people to ensure that the learner journey is both successful and compliant, documenting progress and maintaining databases throughout, as a relatively new area within the business, you will be expected to devise processes to ensure the department runs both smoothly and efficiently. Current caseload circa 30.
• A DBS check prior to commencement of role is required.

Essential Requirements:

• Prior experience of supporting learners who are struggling to complete their apprenticeship due to special learning needs or disengagement, ideally having a specialism of working with individuals requiring additional educational support. Maybe you have previously been a trainer assessor and understand the challenges faced by learners.
• Full and comprehensive understanding of compliance within New Standard apprenticeship delivery.
• Working experience within a College or Training Provider within the quality department or experience delivering apprenticeships, Functional Skills or pre-employment training.
• Confident, organised and detail-orientated with the ability to self manage and get things done.
• You must be able to empathise with the learner and give them confidence in your ability to help resolve their issues.

• Prior management experience
