Hours of Work: Full time - shift work averaging 37 hours per week over a 10 week programme

The Estates Services Department is seeking an Estates Operative (Grounds Maintenance).

This role involves shift work across all Fareham College Group sites providing the highest standards of customer service in a general caretaking capacity to all College staff, students and visitors.

This role includes the following duties:

* Opening, closing and maintenance of order throughout the day.
* Janitorial cleaning inside and out.
* Driving - cars, vans and minibuses.
* Security - maintaining discipline standards.
* Maintenance (DIY Skills, Grounds Maintenance etc).

A full driving licence with Categories B and D1 is essential. However training can be provided if necessary.

You will need to have good all round DIY skills and be confident in the use of a range of tools and machinery including lifting and porterage equipment. Qualification and experience with Grounds Maintenance is highly desirable with the grounds maintenance role and applicants should highlight this when applying. Security experience is most desirable, however, a specific training package will be provided for certain areas.

You will need to have a flexible and proactive attitude to work, using your excellent customer service skills to deal with people of all ages.

This role rotate between the main campus at Bishopsfield Road, Fareham (BRC) and CEMAST at Lee on The Solent but also serve any other Outreach Site operated by The Fareham College Group.

This is a full time position averaging 37 hours per week (370 hours over a 10 week cycle); the actual hours worked each week depends on the site and shift. The rota includes weekend working on a rotational basis.
