In a nutshell

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate person tp be responsible for raising the standards of teaching and learning of delivery teams’ practice as well as being responsible for the quality assurance sampling of qualifications within an occupational area, supporting the Regional Trainers to interpret, understand and apply the standards and assessment requirements the learners are working towards.

About the role

You will be:

* Ensuring that all awarding organisation standards/ polices/ processes are maintained.
* Planning and carrying out observations of assigned caseload of trainer/tutors in teaching and learning and internal quality assurance, making judgements and grading in line with agreed criteria
* Supporting the Regional Trainer /Tutor with assessment methodology remotely via Skype and webinars or face to face to support people obsession.
* Producing sampling plans based on risk and follow and update sampling and observation of practice to uphold the quality of the qualification, maintaining a clear audit trail of activity and ensuring internal sampling / quality assurance strategy and awarding organisation requirements.
* Supporting and encouraging use of the learner visit standard
* Carrying out teaching and assessment of RT’s within probation to ensure timely completion of all required qualifications and onboarding activities
* Carrying out group, remote and 121 training and coaching sessions
* Providing detailed verbal and written feedback to trainers/tutors based on observation findings and coaching them to improve their practice and support their Continuing Professional Development
* Providing reports on findings and impact of coaching and development, and inform Area Managers of finding through regular communication
* Developing and deliver training sessions as part of a Continuing Professional Development programme for trainers/tutors and support the upskilling programme for trainer and tutors in the area
* Implementing and monitoring professional development plans for trainers/tutors and communicate progress with key stakeholders
* Planning, preparing, delivering and evaluating the initial teacher training and on-boarding programmes
* Acting as as advocate, identify and share best practice for learning technologies to support trainers in the delivery of teaching and learning
* Contributing to to ad hoc cross sector/function projects to support the delivery of Lifetime’s strategic plan
* Maintaining and enhance relationships with business support teams to support the delivery of the sector plan

About you

We are looking for:

* Teacher qualified, working towards or prepared to work towards (Level 5, PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS)
* Assessor and IQA qualified (D32/33/34, A1, CAVA, V1 or equivalent)
* Maths, English and ICT at level 2 or equivalent
* Occupational competence to deliver qualifications to a minimum of level 3
* A teaching expert able to demonstrate strong understanding of pedagogy for the vocational subject(s)
* Knowledge of Further Education and Skills landscape in Scotland (Scottish Government, Quality and funding)
* Previous experience of the observation and critical assessment of teaching and learning in work-based, classroom or virtual settings
* Passionate and commitment to learning technologies
* Demonstrates their commitment to the ET-F Professional Standards
* IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office
