The Maths department is looking for an outstanding Maths Lecturer (ability to teach English desirable) to join its high achieving and progressive team. Fareham College is committed to developing students' maths skills to enhance their employability and career opportunities by achieving nationally recognised qualifications to complement a range of technical and professional courses. Fareham College has a robust English and maths strategy which puts progression and development of mathematical skills at its core. The post requires the successful candidate to teach on GCSE, foundation maths and level 3 programmes. Role Purpose

The post requires the successful candidate to teach on GCSE, foundation maths and potentially level 3 programmes as well as adult part time courses. Duties

* To deliver engaging and motivating lessons to Functional Skills, GCSE Maths, to 16-18 and adult students.
* To track progress through assessment and reporting within own teaching groups.
* To monitor the progression of all students in own teaching groups.
* To produce high quality resources and take part in the creation of departmental schemes of work.
* To regularly mark and feedback to students in line with the departmental assessment systems.
* To work as a team supporting the sharing good practice College wide
* Be willing to attend relevant courses/conferences/CPD activities and share good practice with colleagues
* To identify students at risk of underachievement in liaison with the Professional, Technical and support colleagues.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required

* Experience of delivering maths qualification at Key Stage 4 and above
* Hold a recognised teaching qualification (Desirable)
* Ideally hold a Maths degree
* Have well developed organisational and administrative skills
* Have an clear understanding of the changes in the national curriculum at GCSE
* Have a proven track record of successfully preparing students for externally examined subjects
* Ideally have experience as an examiner and/or have a knowledge of examining body processes
* Ideally have the experience and knowledge of work based learning practices for maths and English, including the ability to support students remotely

The role will be based across our 2 campuses; Fareham College and CEMAST, and include teaching some evenings.
