We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bid Writer to join the CT Skills family. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will research, develop, write and submit tenders and applications in line with the company’s exciting growth strategy. You will be based at our head office site in Beeston, Nottingham.

The Company

CT Skills is an ambitious business, delivering training solutions and workforce consultancy to learners and employers throughout the East Midlands. We are graded Good by OFSTED across all areas of the business and hold Quality 9001 accreditation, Matrix and IIP Silver. Our ‘PRAISE’ values (pride, respect, accountability, integrity and service excellence) drive all delivery services both to our employers and learners, and to our own employees, always embedding professionalism within a culture of continuous improvement.

We currently have six fixed delivery centres and hundreds of work-based learners throughout the Midlands with the next phase of our growth already under implementation.

CT Skills currently has turnover of £5m with plans for significant short-term growth and is committed to encouraging equality and diversity and eliminating unlawful discrimination.

The Role

You will be researching and sourcing tender opportunities in line with our CT Skills growth strategy, establishing the requirements of each tender opportunity by liaising with our Operations Team to assess suitability for tender and to develop strategies for answering tender questions. You will be completing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ), Invitation to Tender (ITT), or Expression of Interest (EOI) forms.

You will also attend tender briefings and market engagement events to ensure awareness of any emphasis placed on particular aspects of the bid requirements, as well as to network with other interested parties. You will also be writing and delivering presentations as part of the tendering process, discussing bid activity and progress with Directors and ensuring information is shared with the Business Development team.

The Individual

You will have a good eye for detail with excellent written skills and can use IT portals to identify tender opportunities and submit tenders. You will work well under pressure, often managing multiple bidding opportunities simultaneously.

Proof reading skills to identify strengths and weaknesses within a bid are essential along with experience of collating information and presenting it following tender guidelines. You will integrate seamlessly within the Business Development team to ensure that all bids meet the brief, are innovative and are completed within the agreed timescales.

You will have the ability and confidence to network within the industry, promote CT Skills, develop partnerships and also have the confidence to write and deliver presentations when necessary.

You will have proven experience in bid writing, with preference given to candidates who can demonstrate success in tendering for ESFA, DWP, LEP, Local Authority, NHS, Apprenticeship Levy and commercial contracts.

In return we offer excellent terms and conditions including:

• 36 days holiday (inc. bank holidays)
• contributory pension scheme
• life assurance
• free debt advice/counselling/guidance through our Employee Assistance Programme
