Job Title: Trainer / Assessor (STLS)
Location: Can be based from either Chesterfield, Derby or Mansfield centres & will involve travel to assess learners in the Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire areas.
Salary Bracket: £21,000 to £24,000 (Negotiable) + excellent benefits package and mileage @ 0.45p
Job Type: Permanent (35 hours per week)

OVERVIEW

V Selective are working on behalf of a presigious Training Provider organisation, who have a new vacancy for a STLS (Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) Assessor to join their team. The role can be based from either of their Centres in Chesterfield, Derby or Mansfield - whichever is closest to the candidate appointed.

The purpose of the role is to provide a quality assessment, teaching and learning service to Apprentices completing Apprenticeship Frameworks/Standards at Level 2 and 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools, along with some in Business Administration and Customer Services across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

The role also offers opportunities for progression to complete a Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (IQA award)

DUTIES INCLUDE:

- Provide high quality training and assessment to learners undertaking Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools, Business Administration and Customer Services apprenticeships frameworks and standards at Level 2 and 3.
- Deliver training and assessment in the workplace and classroom including Functional Skills Maths, English and ICT
- Identification of Basic Skills needs
- Delivery of training both in company and using IT to facilitate remote delivery and learning
- Undertaking assessments and reviews in the workplace
- Taking responsibility for the administration related to these candidates
- Guiding a caseload of individuals through qualifications and Apprenticeship Frameworks/Standards
- Train and induct all apprentices onto the framework/standard, qualification, Functional Skills and the electronic portfolio.
- Instruct, guide and support mixed ability/age groups/individuals on both a group and one-to-one basis.
- Plan, update and write appropriate course material. 
-Deliver teaching sessions to apprentices to include a lesson plan for classroom sessions and on-site visits.
-Write Schemes of Work and Lesson plans. Provide support to other assessors when needed. 
- Submit accurate and timely information to the Skills and Apprenticeship Quality Manager regarding registration, accreditation, progression and certification. 
- Maintain the development, support and welfare of caseload.
- Assess and submit assignments i.e. technical certificates and bespoke qualifications.
- Book and administer exams as per the criteria associated with the qualification and invigilate exams.

PERSON SPEC

- Knowledge of the apprenticeship standards
- Relevant and demonstrable experience of assessing learners in the STLS (supporting teaching and learning and schools), and also ideally Business Administration and Customer Service
- Experience of undertaking assessments and reviews in the workplace
- Proven sector competency in areas of delivery
- Hold an Assessor qualification (e.g. A1, CAVA, TAQA or equivalent)
- Hold a teaching qualification (e.g. PTTLS)
- GCSEs in Maths, English and ICT Grade A*-C or equivalent
- Relevant industry qualifications and CPD
