Principal Teachers are working in partnership with a primary school in Darlington. The school has a vacancy for a Year 2 Class Teacher to commence a long term role from January 2018 or as soon as possible. The Head Teacher wishes to appoint a creative and highly organised teacher to join the KS1 primary team and be able to drive results forward in Year 2. The successful applicant will be able to create inspiring, stimulating and purposeful learning experiences that will motivate, support and challenge pupils in Year 2. Experience of delivering Year 2 SATs is essential.

This smaller than average primary is based on the outskirts of Richmond, the schools serves a diverse catchment area. You will have access to a wealth of resources and facilities as well as a full time TA in class. Working collaboratively with your fellow colleagues, you will need to be able to plan and assess meticulously to cater to the needs of a diverse class. Behaviour across the school is good and you will need to fully embrace the school’s behaviour management policy and ethos in order to uphold standards. The successful applicant will have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
* Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
* Previous experience of teaching in the UK and delivering Year 2 SATs
* Knowledge of the current Primary National Curriculum requirements for KS1
* Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
* The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
* Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
* A commitment to improving attainment for all students
* A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
