Head of Initial Teacher Education (Primary and EYFS)

Duties and Responsibilities:

*To offer strategic leadership and management in the area of programme development and delivery for all Primary and Early Years ITE courses within the School
*To cover for absent leaders and managers in the School
*To make a contribution to teaching commensurate with the responsibilities of the post
*To maintain a programme of research and/or scholarly activity in a relevant discipline commensurate with the responsibilities of the post
*To participate in professional/academic associations and develop and participate in external networks
*To attend appropriate training and staff development sessions
*To oversee the monitoring and progression of student progress in Primary and Early Years programmes, ensuring accurate records are maintained and evaluated to inform improvement planning.
*To discharge all relevant health and safety responsibilities

Minimum requirements:

*Qualified teacher status
*Good Honours Degree or equivalent
*Doctorate (completed or working towards)
*Evidence of leadership and management skills within an HE context
*Successful experience of teaching and course coordination in UK teacher education, within the HE sector
*Successful experience of teaching children of primary/early years schooling age
