This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled, enthusiastic and ambitious teacher of Science to join the dynamic and committed Science department. The successful candidate will work within this supportive environment to contribute to the success of their students and the development of the curriculum area up to Key Stage 5.

Duties and Responsibilities:
*Plan, prepare and teach lessons of the highest quality
*Use the resources of the subject in an effective and imaginative way
*Motivate, enthuse, excite and challenge students to produce the highest quality work
*Contribute to the writing and implementation of the subject’s Development Plan
*Set high expectations for students behaviour, learning and motivation
*Respond to professional development opportunities and work within the school’s Continuing Professional Development Framework, including ICT developments
*Ensure that Health and Safety policies and practices are in place
*Participate in the pastoral organisation of the school as a form tutor, as required
*Support departmental and school approaches to assessment, recording and reporting
*Set work for students absent from school for health and safety or disciplinary reasons

Minimum requirements:

*QTS, Degree; PGCE or equivalent qualification
*Experience teaching KS3, KS4 & KS5
*Evidence of professional development
*The ability to teach physics would be an advantage but not essential
