Qualified Schools are currently seeking a friendly candidate with a professional manner for this Customer Services apprenticeship at a secondary school in Brent.

Your role will be to provide an efficient and friendly reception service and to fulfil a broad range of office duties and administrative tasks

The position will be full time (35 hours per week) for 12 months until completion of Apprenticeship, with a possibility of progressing onto the next level of Apprenticeship and extending your contract, should both parties be in agreement. On average one day during the week to be spent at College, completing qualification (Customer Services Level 2).

Principal Duties

* Providing reception and switchboard support to the school.

* Providing clerical support to the school's administrative function.

* Providing reception and switchboard support to the school, including: Receiving, signing in and dealing with or directing pupils, parents and other school visitors as appropriate.

* Operating the school's main switchboard, transferring calls, or taking and delivering messages as appropriate.

* Manage all office functions in the holiday periods.

* Providing clerical support to the school's administrative function, including:

* Receiving and sorting incoming mail for delivery to appropriate staff.

* Recording, stamping/franking and posting outgoing mail.

* Provide typing support for Faculties and SLT.

* Administer corridor patrol and staff break duty lists.

* Produce weekly staff bulletin.

* Support primary transfer process.

* Provide support to MRO administration during summer holiday period.

* Co-ordinate uniform deliveries.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications

* 5 GCSEs at A*- C or equivalent, including Maths & English

* Experience of all main office packages

* Good telephone manner

* Welcoming nature

* Previous office experience
* Excellent Numeracy/ Literacy Skills
* Understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position
* Routine clerical skills involving use of keyboard and mouse
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to relate well to children and adults
