Principal Teachers currently has a vacancy for a qualified HLTA to commence a PPA Cover role in a Thirsk primary school. The Head Teacher has approached PT to assist in the school’s search for a full time HLTA to work across KS1 and KS2 covering PPA time and offering support to the team. The role is available to start in November on an ongoing basis. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an ability to be dynamic, flexible and innovative to be able to teach and support effectively within this diverse school.

Based in Thirsk, the school is well regarded within the local community and is very successful. You will need to liaise with colleagues efficiently and develop strong working relationships quickly with staff and pupils alike. The Head Teacher is seeking a creative and inspiring professional, who will commit their efforts to raising attainment for all and driving results forward in KS1 and KS2 in partnership with your colleagues. You will be able to plan and assess to a high standard to ensure children of all abilities can thrive. Behaviour across the school is good and you will need to uphold these standards and adopt the school’s ethos.

The successful applicant will have:

* HLTA Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
* Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
* Previous experience of teaching in the UK
* Knowledge of the current Primary National Curriculum requirements for KS1 and KS2
* Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
* The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
* Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
* A commitment to improving attainment for all students
* A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
