Job Title: Childcare / STLS Assessor

Location: West London - Must be flexible with travel

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 (Dependent upon qualifications and experience) - including London Location Allowance

*Trainee Assessor* To Apply, Trainee applicants must meet the essential skills below;
(Full training and support will be given to Trainee candidates to achieve the Assessors award)

  • Must hold occupational competency in Management in order to assess Management at level 5 (prior assessing experience of management is not essential)
  • Hold occupational competency in; Childcare as a nursery nurse within a nursery setting AND experience as a Teaching Assistant within a school setting.
  • Ideally have previous experience of delivering on-the-job training to colleagues. 

Duties:

  • Assess and support learners through full Apprenticeship frameworks in Childcare / STLS (Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) to Levels 2/3 - Tech Cert, ERR & PLTS. Also be competent to assess / or have experience of Assessing Level 5 Management Apprenticeship / QCF.
  • Deliver full training and support learners through their Functional Skills - Maths, English and ICT to level 2.
  • Visit and observe learners in their place of work, to gather quality evidence towards their Apprenticeship/QCF qualifications.
  • Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely visits and reviews are conducted.
  • Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress.
  • Support, advise and motivate learners.
  • Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.
  • Work to learner review and completion timescales.
  • Assessors are expected to take part in Learner Recruitment to maintain own caseload, this will include generating recruits for the Apprenticeship programme by carrying out business development activities.

Essential Criteria:

  • Must hold occupational competency in Management in order to assess Management at level 5 (prior assessing experience of management is not essential)
  • Hold occupational competency in; Childcare as a nursery nurse within a nursery setting AND experience as a Teaching Assistant within a school setting.
  • Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively.
  • Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people.
  • Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle
  • Must be flexible with travel

Desirable Criteria:

  • Recognised Assessor award: D32/D33, A1, TAQA or CAVA.
  • Experience of delivering full framework Apprenticeships in STLS and Childcare levels 2/3 including Functional Skills (Maths / English) up to level 2.
