Principal Teachers are seeking to appoint a Religious Studies Teacher on behalf of a secondary school in the York area. The school requires an inspiring and passionate Teacher of RS to join the Humanities Department ASAP on an ongoing basis. You will be required to plan and deliver an inspiring RS curriculum to KS4 students that is equally challenging and supportive in order to meet the needs of diverse classes. You will be required to plan and assess meticulously and work with your colleagues to drive KS4 results forward and allow all to achieve their full potential.

This successful York secondary school serves a large and diverse catchment area and is well regarded within the local community. The Head Teacher wishes to appoint a Teacher of RS, who will fully embrace the school’s ethos and dedicate their efforts to improving attainment for all. You will be responsible for teaching Years 10-11 on a full time basis. Behaviour across the school is very good and so you will need to demand high expectations of behaviour to ensure standards are upheld.

The successful applicant will have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
* Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
* Previous experience of teaching in an education setting in the UK
* Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum for Religious Studies
* Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
* The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
* Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
* A commitment to improving attainment for all students
* A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
