Principal Teachers are working in partnership with a primary school in the Thirsk area. The school has a vacancy for a Year 1 and 2 Class Teacher to commence a full time role as soon as possible. The Head Teacher is seeking an enthusiastic and driven KS1 specialist, who will be responsible for all planning, teaching and assessing of this small mixed year group class. Being the only KS1 teacher, you will need to plan and deliver a supportive and challenging curriculum that engages and encourages learners with a diverse range of abilities and needs. You will be required to engage all children in their learning and provide exceptional learning experiences to provide the children with the tools and support to succeed.

This smaller than average primary has an excellent reputation within the local community and has excellent facilities. Staff are known for their commitment to attainment for all and their participation in the wider aspects of school life e.g. extra-curricular activities and extended services. The successful applicant will become part of a thriving team of teachers and have a full time TA in class. You will need to deploy your TA effectively to enhance pupil learning in Year 1 and 2 and drive results forward. Behaviour across the school is good and you will need to fully embrace the school’s behaviour management policy and ethos in order to uphold standards. The successful applicant will have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
* Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
* Previous experience of teaching in the UK
* Knowledge of the current Primary National Curriculum requirements for KS1
* Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
* The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
* Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
* A commitment to improving attainment for all students
* A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
