Principal Teachers currently has a requirement for a Year 2 Teacher to join the KS1 team at a primary school in the Leyburn area. The Head Teacher of this smaller than average primary school has approached PT to act on their behalf to source a dedicated, passionate and enthusiastic professional. The position is available to start in October on a long term, full time basis. You will be required to work with the rest of your KS1 colleagues to plan and deliver a robust and enriching curriculum that will engage all learners in Year 2. Head Teacher wishes to appoint a creative, dynamic and driven KS1 specialist, who will cater the curriculum to cater to the needs of this diverse class and challenge pupils to achieve their full potential, driving KS1 results forward for a successful start in KS2.

Based in a rural area of Leyburn, the school serves a small catchment area. It is very well resourced and staff are encouraged to work collaboratively to foster and inclusive and reflective ethos. You will gain access to a wealth of resources and excellent onsite facilities upon appointment including a full time TA. You will need to deploy your TA effectively to enhance pupil learning in Year 2 and collaborate with the KS1 team to ensure progression. Behaviour across the school is good and you will need to fully embrace the school’s behaviour management policy and ethos in order to uphold standards. The successful applicant will have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
* Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
* Previous experience of teaching in the UK
* Knowledge of the current Primary National Curriculum requirements for KS1
* Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
* The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
* Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
* A commitment to improving attainment for all students
* A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
