Protocol are working with a large FE college who due to large student numbers are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable FE manager to join them as Head of School - IT & Computing.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Manage the effective delivery of the curriculum for all students (within area of responsibility) to ensure the delivery of an appropriate, comprehensive, high quality and cost-effective curriculum programme which supports future employment and meets employers’ needs.
- Deliver an outstanding department, which has an excellent reputation with local partners and is the first choice for learners and parents.
- Continually review the curriculum to ensure the curriculum offer meets both student and
employer needs and achieves income targets.
- Embrace the challenges of providing a value added provision, delivering maths and English,
tackling new assessment regimes and developing e-learning.
- Manage students’ programmes and set aspirational targets to ensure they are equipped for their future lives with the prospect of securing the best possible employment or study options.
- Ensure that excellent customer service is provided at all times to students, internal and external partners and parents.
- Manage and implement changes in the curriculum that offer flexibility, creativity and
opportunities to meet the needs of the students’ lifestyle, local business growth plans and
Government priorities.
- Build a high performing team, manage effective and appropriate communication and implement
succession planning.
- Manage all aspects of staff performance through appraisals that are clearly linked to the
College’s strategic plan, KPI’s and ambitious teaching, learning and assessment targets.

- Undertake activities that improve teaching, learning and assessment, including learning walks observation of staff.
- Develop the knowledge and skills of staff through organising purposeful and effective CPD
activities.
- Manage delegated budgets appropriately and meet financial targets.
- Develop growth and a diverse portfolio of curriculum delivery that meets the needs of a range of students.
- Develop an annual business plan and Self Assessment Report, ensuring clear linkages with the College’s Strategic Plan.
- Promote and develop the College’s reputation through meeting learners’, internal and external partner’s and parent’s needs.
- Promote GC as a valued destination of choice and progression pathway.
