Principal Teachers has a requirement for a qualified History Teacher to commence a long term role in a secondary school in Catterick. The Head Teacher requires a History Teacher to join the Humanities Department on a full time basis from October or as soon as possible. You will be required to deliver an inspiring and challenging curriculum to KS4 students and you will also have Form Tutor responsibilities for a Year 10 Form. The Head Teacher is seeking a driven and passionate Teacher to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities to drive GCSE results forward.

Based in a vibrant area of Catterick, the school is serves a large and diverse catchment area. The successful applicant will be welcomed into a thriving and experienced Humanities Department and gain access to a wealth of resources and excellent site facilities. You will need to demonstrate your ability to plan and assess to a high standard to ensure that students of a range of abilities are catered to and are provided with the learning opportunities they need to succeed. Behaviour across the school is good and so you will need to fully adopt the school’s ethos and policies to ensure standards are upheld.

The successful applicant will have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
* Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
* Previous experience of teaching in the UK
* Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum requirements for History
* Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
* The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
* Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
* A commitment to improving attainment for all students
* A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
