Principal Teachers currently has a vacancy for a Food Technology Teacher to commence a part time (0.6) post in a Thirsk secondary school. The Head Teacher is seeking to appoint a driven and dynamic Food Tech Teacher from September on an ongoing basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching Food Technology to KS3 and KS4 students and you must be able to show a passion for your subject. An ability to teach another DT subject would be advantageous but not essential. You will need to plan and assess meticulously in order to cater to the needs of diverse classes and allow all students to achieve and succeed.

The school is based in a vibrant area of Thirsk and serves a large catchment area. The successful applicant will be required to deliver an exciting and creative curriculum to children in Years 7-11 and motivate all students to achieve and develop essential life skills. The school is well resourced and you will have access to excellent facilities and an experienced FTT faculty. Behaviour across the school is good and you will need to commit your efforts to upholding these high standards.

The successful applicant will have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
* Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
* Previous experience of teaching in the UK
* Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum requirements for DT (Food Technology)
* Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
* The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
* Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
* A commitment to improving attainment for all students
* A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
