Principal Teachers has a requirement for a Teacher of RE to commence a long-term position in a Knaresborough secondary school. Our client school has a vacancy for an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to join the Humanities Department from September or as soon as possible. Head Teacher has approached PT to assist in the school’s search for a passionate practitioner, who can deliver an inspiring RE curriculum to KS3 and KS4 students. The post is available on an on going basis so an ability to be flexible is crucial. You will need to demonstrate your ability to plan and assess to a high standard to ensure that children of all abilities can thrive and succeed. An ability to teach another Humanities subject would be advantageous.

Based in Knaresborough, the school is easily accessible and is well resourced. Staff are committed to ensuring students develop not only academically but also socially and emotionally. The Head Teacher wishes to appoint a Teacher of RE, who will fully embrace the school’s ethos and dedicate their efforts to improving attainment for all. You will be responsible for teaching Years 7 -11 on a full time basis and be given Form Tutor responsibilities for Year 7. Behaviour across the school is very good and so you will need to demand high expectations of behaviour to ensure standards are upheld.

The successful applicant will have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
* Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
* Previous experience of teaching in an education setting in the UK
* Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum for Religious Education
* Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
* The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
* Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
* A commitment to improving attainment for all students
* A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets

The benefits of working with Principal Teachers:

* No umbrella companies, you can be paid PAYE as standard
* For long term supply teachers, we offer a PAID DAY OFF on your birthday (T&C’s apply)
* Investment in CPD opportunities
* Over 16 years’ experience providing premium standard staff to schools across Yorkshire and North East regions
* We are advocates of fair pay and conditions and work hard to offer competitive remuneration for supply staff
* We are proud to be reputable for our ethical and friendly service
* Supportive Recruiters who will regularly check how you are getting on and listen to your feedback

Principal Teachers are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and a range of other recruitment vetting checks. Principal Teachers are acting as a recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy. Due to the high-volume of applications we expect to receive, only short-listed candidates will be contacted within 3 days.
