Principal Teachers has a requirement for a qualified Advanced Teaching Assistant to commence a full time post in a York primary school. The Head Teacher has approached PT to assist in the school's search for an ATA to work within Key Stage 1. You will be required to work with small groups of pupils to deliver Maths and English interventions in the mornings and also provide whole class support in the afternoons. The position is available to start in September on an ongoing basis.

Based in York, the school is serves a large and diverse catchment area and is well resourced. The Head Teacher is seeking a committed, enthusiastic and experienced TA to join the KS1 team. You will need to demonstrate excellent curriculum knowledge and be qualified to Level 3 (supporting teaching and learning in schools). Behaviour expectations across the school are high and you will need to follow the school's policy and demonstrate your own behaviour management skills to uphold these standards. You will need to be enthusiastic and passionate about education and helping children to achieve.

The successful applicant will have:

* Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (CACHE or NCFE or equivalent)
* Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
* Previous experience of delivering the primary curriculum and supporting teaching and learning in an education setting in the UK
* Knowledge of the current Primary National Curriculum
* Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
* The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
* Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
* A commitment to improving attainment for all students
* A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
