Principal Teachers are currently seeking to appoint an Advanced Teaching Assistant on behalf of a primary school in the Northallerton area to work within KS2. The Head Teacher requires a motivated and committed ATA to support teaching and learning on a full time basis. You will be based in a mixed Year 3 and 4 class and be required to work with small groups of children delivering morning interventions in Maths and English as well as providing whole class support on an afternoon. The position is available to start in September or as soon as possible.

Based in Northallerton, the school is serves a diverse catchment area and is well resourced. Staff are very welcoming and committed to aiding children to achieve academically as well as encouraging their growth socially, emotionally and culturally. The successful applicant will need to show a willingness to engage in the wider life of the school and fully embrace the school ethos. You will need to demonstrate excellent curriculum knowledge and be qualified to Level 3 (supporting teaching and learning in schools). The Head Teacher is seeking to appoint an individual, who is enthusiastic and passionate about education and helping children to achieve.

The successful applicant will have:

• Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (CACHE or NCFE or equivalent)
• Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
• Previous experience of delivering the primary curriculum and supporting teaching and learning in an education setting in the UK
• Knowledge of the current Primary National Curriculum
• Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
• The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
• Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
• A commitment to improving attainment for all students
• A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
