A post 16 facility in the London Borough of Greenwich are seeking an outstanding candidate to manage their Learning Support Assistants from September 2017. This role is aided by 2 assistants/deputys.

The successful candidate will;

  • Manage a team of support staff, ensuring, efficient, high quality learner support and teaching and learning in partnership with the curriculum.
  • Gather detailed information on learners SEND to inform and write a Personal Learning Plan, personal care plans, and other learner journey documents to meet their individual needs 
  • Support curriculum areas with the implementation, monitoring and review of Personal Learning Plans and progress for learners receiving QFT and Targeted Support. 
  • Produce robust and realistic cost plans for learners requiring specialist support within your caseload or area of expertise; supporting the Director to track and achieve income targets through efficient delivery.
  • Proactively lead in specialist and none specialist CPD, staff induction, professional development programmes or initiatives, skill sharing, peer shadowing and support, team meetings and learning sets.
  • Carry out research into a specific area of SEND need and support falling into one of the four broad areas identified in the SEND Code of Practice; Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health, and Sensory and/or Physical Needs 

The successful candidate will work to assure excellent learner progress and the holistic wellbeing of individual learners via in-class and out of class support as appropriate, joining the Supported Learning Department on its journey. The successful candidate will also have experience of managing a team of staff.
