Principal Teachers are seeking to recruit a passionate Teacher of Religious Studies to commence a long-term position in a Knaresborough secondary school. We have been approached by the Head Teacher to appoint an experienced practitioner, who can deliver an inspiring RS curriculum to KS3 and KS4 students. The post is available to start as soon as possible before the end of the summer term on an on going basis. You will need to demonstrate your ability to plan and assess to a high standard to ensure that the needs of a diverse class are met and that students are equally supported and challenged.

Based in an urban area of Richmondshire, the school serves a large and vibrant catchment area. Staff are committed to ensuring students develop not only academically but also socially and emotionally. The Head Teacher wishes to appoint a Teacher of RS who will fully embrace the school’s ethos and dedicate their efforts to improving attainment for all. You will be responsible for teaching Years 7 -11 on a full time basis and be given Form Tutor responsibilities for Year 9. Behaviour across the school is very good and so you will need to demand high expectations of behaviour to ensure standards are upheld.


The successful applicant will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
• Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
• Previous experience of teaching in an education setting in the UK
• Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum for Religious
Studies
• Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
• The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a
diverse range of backgrounds
• Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
• A commitment to improving attainment for all students
• A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
