Principal Teachers are working on behalf of a Harrogate secondary school to appoint a KS4 History Teacher. The Head Teacher and Governors are seeking a committed and driven teacher to join their Humanities Department to teach history to Years 10 and 11 on a full time basis. The successful applicant will need to be available to start before the Summer break and be flexible to work on an on going basis covering sickness.

Graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, this smaller than average secondary school is based in a rural area of Harrogate. The school is well resourced and the successful applicant will gain full access to a wealth of resources and support tools. Moreover, you will become part of a collaborative and welcoming Humanities Department. Experience of teaching Religious Studies would also be advantageous. Applications are welcome from both NQTs and experienced teachers.

The successful applicant will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
• Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
• Previous experience of teaching History to pupils in the UK
• Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum requirements for History
• Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
• The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
• Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
• A commitment to improving attainment for all students
• A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
