Principal Teachers are acting on behalf of a secondary school in the Guiseley area with a vacancy for a full time History Teacher. The Head Teacher is seeking to appoint a qualified History Teacher to deliver an inspiring KS3 and KS4 curriculum to Years 8-10. The role is available to start immediately or as soon as possible after the May half term. The successful candidate will need to be flexible to continue into the next academic term and beyond if required.

Based in a vibrant area of Guiseley, this Ofsted graded ‘Good’ secondary school is well regarded within the local community. The successful applicant will become part of a thriving Humanities Department and have full access to a wealth of resources. Staff within the school are extremely supportive and student behaviour is very good on the whole. The Head Teacher is seeking a committed professional to inspire students in History and motivate students of all abilities to realise their full potential.

The successful applicant will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
• Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
• Previous experience of teaching in an education setting in the UK
• Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum requirements for History
• Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
• The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
• Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
• A commitment to improving attainment for all students
• A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
