Principal Teachers are working in partnership with a secondary school in Thirsk. The Head Teacher has approached PT to recruit a qualified PE Teacher on their behalf to commence a full time role as soon as possible on an on going basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering a dynamic and motivating Physical Education curriculum to Year 8s.

Based in a beautiful area of Thirsk, the school is very well respected amongst local parents. The school is recognised for its high standards of attainment and behaviour and staff are very supportive. The Head Teacher wishes to appoint a committed and driven PE Teacher to inspire Years 8s to realise their potential and to instil a love of sports.

The successful applicant will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
• Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
• Previous experience of teaching in an education setting in the UK
• Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum for Physical Education
• Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
• The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
• Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
• A commitment to improving attainment for all students
• A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
