1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEN Support) - Darwen (BB3)
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs at a high-achieving primary school in Darwen (BB3).

Role Overview
Location: Darwen, Lancashire (Postcode: BB3)
Start Date: Monday, 23rd February 2026
Contract: Full-time, until the end of the academic year (July 2026)
Hours: 8:45 am - 3:30 pm (Monday to Friday)
Salary: 85 - 100 per day (linked to experience)
Your Responsibilities
Work 1:1 with a specific pupil, providing tailored support to meet their social, emotional, and academic goals.
Implement strategies outlined in the pupil's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Assist the Class Teacher in managing classroom behavior and fostering an inclusive environment.
Provide regular feedback to the SENCo regarding the pupil's progress and engagement.
Requirements
Experience: Proven experience supporting children with SEN (Autism, ADHD, or SEMH) is highly desirable.
Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (or equivalent experience).
DBS: A child-only enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential (or willingness to apply for one).
Reliability: A commitment to the pupil until the end of the summer term to ensure continuity of care.
