SEN Teaching Assistant

Reception/EYFS

Full time

90- 105 day

SANZA Teaching Agency are currently supporting a creative, community, 2-form entry primary school in Ealing (Ealing Broadway). They are seeking an active, adaptable teaching assistant to join their team!

The successful candidate will be working on a 1:1 basis with a child in reception who has special needs/SEN (Autism).

Key responsibilities:

  • Support student with SEN/special needs on a 1:1 basis
  • Supporting children with their learning and development
  • Providing feedback to the class teacher on children's progress
  • Preparing learning resources and materials
  • Helping with the supervision of children during break times
  • Maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a primary school, preferably in the EYFS
  • A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum
  • Experience supporting children with SEN (Autism)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Understanding of pre-verbal communication methods and strategies
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and the ability to adapt them to meet individual needs
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
