Post 1: LECTURER IN ENGLISH WITH LITERACY FOCUS

Hours: FT and/or PT position available to the right candidate

Salary: £33,448 per annum, pro rata for PT post.

Post 2: FLEXIBLE HOURLY RATE LECTURER IN ENGLISH

Hours: Variable hours

Hourly rate of pay: £24.18 or £27.87 per hour (dependant on qualifications)

Our English department is looking for inspirational and enthusiastic lecturers to join their friendly and supportive team. Excellent classroom management skills and an ability to inspire our learners to achieve their full potential is essential.

The delivery will be to mainly full time students studying vocational courses at the college. This will include different sized groups. The applicants must have relevant teaching experience in GCSE English and possess the following qualifications:

* Subject related degree or equivalent professional qualification
* A recognised teaching qualification
* GCSE English and Maths (Grade A*-C) or equivalent Level 2 qualification
* Minimum of Level 3 (or equivalent qualification) in English or Literacy

The ability to communicate, motivate and understand the needs of young learners is essential. A good knowledge of learning disabilities and/or difficulties is desirable.
