18.5 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

As a Lecturer in Creative and Digital (Art and Design History, Theory and Practice), you will deliver effective teaching, learning and assessment at undergraduate level across BA (Hons) art and design degree programmes in the School of Creative and Digital and Community based at University Centre Blackburn.

Subjects taught within the School are Fashion, Textiles and Interiors, Graphic Design, Animation and Game Arts, Photography and Moving Image and Fine art, and a broad knowledge of art and design history, theory and practice will be necessary to work across this portfolio, and inspire students to make connections and appreciate the relevance of art and design history and its links to contemporary practice. Current practice, along with this broad understanding, will be necessary to supervise students in theoretical, research and creative practice. Knowledge of modernist and post-modernist art and design will be essential from late 19 th century to the present day.

You will integrate practice, expertise, knowledge and research activities into curriculum development, design and implementation, engaging with industry and relevant organisations to ensure curriculum delivery that is current, agile and relevant to graduate opportunities.
