Protocol are looking to speak with Apprenticeship Skills Coaches with specialism in Civil and Building Services Engineering for an opportunity with a University based in London.

The University’s apprenticeship offer is expanding, and they require enthusiastic Skills Reviewers to work with academics and industry partners to develop the best Higher and Degree Apprenticeships in the sector.

As an Apprenticeship Skills Reviewer, you will coach and support apprentices to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours for them to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

You will be an excellent communicator with experience of coaching or mentoring and an engineering qualification related to the built environment, preferably in civil and/or building services, as well as some industry experience.

Some Key Responsibilities:

- Providing proactive and reactive vocational and educational support to apprentices and their line managers throughout the apprenticeship scheme.
- Monitoring apprentice progression against knowledge, skills and behaviour standards.
- Undertaking regular progress review meetings with apprentices and mentors, either at their workplace or via Teams.
- Preparing the apprentice for End Point Assessment.
- Ensuring all quality assurance requirements relevant to the educational support of an apprentice are being met.

Candidate Criteria:

- An engineering qualification related to the built environment.
- Experience of coaching or mentoring.
- Understanding of the end-to-end apprenticeship journey.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and maintain empathy with stakeholders.
- Experience with e-learning platforms and an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

Additional Information:

- Salary is in the range of £32,021 to £37,326 per annum, inclusive of London weighting.
- 35 hours per week, worked from Monday to Friday; 9am-5pm.
- You may occasionally be required to attend the apprentices’ workplace outside of normal working hours.
- Both full-time and part-time applications can be considered.
- You will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
