Role overview of a Skills Development Assessor

We are looking for a self-motivated, passionate and experienced Skills Development Coach with previous experience in delivering Apprenticeship Standards for Level 2 and 3 Customer Services and Level 3 Business Administration and Team Leader.

Working across several sectors, the ideal candidate will have experience of ESFA and Ofsted legislation and in delivering various qualifications at different levels.
The Skills Development Coach will be responsible for the delivery and monitoring of apprentices to support the development of knowledge, skills and behaviours and to prepare apprentices for the end point assessment.

Main duties of a Skills Development Assessor:-
• Teaching/Learner Management
• Proven track record of Leadership and ability to inspire and support learners with different abilities.
• Identify and assess learners’ needs and put in place robust learning plans, with realistic and challenging goals, that enable learners to understand their personal journey and realise their potential.
• Actively support, mentor and motivate learners across the entire learner journey, to help them with the timely completion of their learning goals and achievement of their apprenticeship standard.
• Mark work, giving appropriate feedback and maintain records of learner’s progress and development.
• Actively engage the learners “line manager” to enable them to play a proactive role and support the learner to apply their skills in the workplace
• Liaising with and ensuring that Yellow Tree are compliant with Ofsted, ESFA, funding partners and awarding organisations.
• Ensuring retention and achievement targets are met.
• Manage and monitor all learner evidence in line with company and awarding body requirements.
• Devise and oversee end point assessment, ensure regular contact with the Quality Trainer (IV) to ensure quality standards are met.
• Ensure all learners progress through their qualification adhering to schemes of work.
• Maintain regular communication with Key Stakeholders on learner progress.
• Identify and plan additional support for learners, as necessary.
• Ensure Equality and Diversity is embedded and instilled both in and out of the classroom.
• Identify and raise any safeguarding issues to the relevant representative.
• Promote and instil a safe learning environment.

Key skills and attributes required for a Skills Development Assessor:-
• Experienced in delivering full apprenticeship standards. Accompanied by success rates.
• You must hold a training/teaching qualification e.g., PGCE/Cert Ed, Level 4 Award in Education & Training, PTTLS, CTTLS
• You must have A1 Level 3 Assessor Qualification
• Previous experience of a Learner Management system such as BUD would be advantageous
• You must have a current DBS check
• You must be able to facilitate virtual/online training.
