Job Details
To support the development, delivery, and quality assurance of Apprenticeship Standards. To provide support for Tutors in order to consistently exceed National Standards and Awarding Organisation quality improvement requirements. To quality assure all aspects of the learner journey, including teaching, learning, assessment, along with the quality assurance of a full learning plan and compliant audit trail in line with Ofsted and ESFA requirements.

Hours 37.5 per week

Principal duties:
• Ensure full compliance with PMA’s Quality Assurance systems to ensure consistency and continuous improvement, liaising with appropriate departments to ensure that systems in support of assessment, verification and additional support are fully implemented.
• To maintain accurate and up to date records of sampling, planning, assessment and observations of teaching, learning and assessment.
• Lead and contribute to Standardisation and Quality Improvement meetings as required.
• Carry out Observation, Teaching and Learning Assessments (OTLA’s) where necessary; providing constructive feedback to Tutors and the Head of Education to drive continuous improvement. This primarily involves developing and supporting an action plan with Tutors judged as requiring improvement or inadequate.
• Maintain and produce management reports/accurate records of training and quality assurance activity, ensuring administration procedures are adhered to, including the management of Awarding Organisation operation systems.
• Mentor and coach colleagues in all aspects of continuous quality improvement, Awarding Organisation, Ofsted and business requirements; including the usage of the centre’s e-portfolio system as a management information tool.
• To monitor the CPD activity of all Tutors and ensure they are supported, building development plans as required.
• To review, evaluate and report on the success of PMA’s apprenticeship standards in delivery and develop strategies to improve where appropriate.
• To maintain relationships with awarding bodies and lead on EQA visits, ensuring PMA remain a low risk centre.
• To book EPA’s where appropriate using Walled Garden systems and manage Awarding Body systems.
• To exemplify a comprehensive understanding of the apprenticeship sector through keeping up to date with relevant course subject matter, industrial/ commercial developments, course examination/ assessment requirements and legislation on apprenticeship and work based programmes.
• To support with creating and implementing a strategy that will improve our embedding and evidencing of Personal Development, Behaviours and Welfare and 20% off the job to ensure both Ofsted and ESFA compliance.
• To undertake any other duties consistent with the basic objectives of the post, including, where necessary, national travel to complete duties.

Qualifications and Training

• Commitment to CPD/professional development/safeguarding.
• A1 & V1 or equivalent.
• CTLLS /Cert Ed/PGCE or equivalent or willingness to work towards (desirable).
• Vocational competence and experience in the internal verification of Apprenticeship Standards in specified areas up to and including Level 5.
• Nationally recognised management award (desirable).
