Job Details
Supporting the management delivery of the PMA workshop and event programme. Setting up and manging, virtual workshops, face to face workshops and other PMA events and conferences. Supporting management of the workshop and events logistics – virtual and physical events.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The PMA workshops and events are a key component of the PMA membership programme. The creation and successful delivery of workshops and events – now approaching 250-300+ workshops and events per year.

Fundamental to this role is an understanding and interest in event management – what makes a good, engaging workshop and learning interaction. An interest and understanding of the health and care sector would be valuable in order to have a feel for how the PMA events and workshop portfolio supports the learning and development of professionals employed in the health and social care sectors.

The role is three-fold.
1) Managing events and workshops with content created for non-clinical teams in general practice. The events will involve liaising with Subject Matter Experts and evaluating existing PMA resources.

2) Workshops and Events Executive will be required to work alongside the PMA Workshop and Events Manager to ensure workshop content is presented in a way that is exciting and stimulating for the learner offering a variety of formats, activities and exercises. An understanding of learn and development would be an advantage.

3) The Workshops and Events Executive will work alongside the PMA Workshop and Events Manager to support the efficient running of the PMA workshops and event programme.

The role also includes the ability to:

• Support the Workshop and Event team on the management and delivery of events and workshops.
• Setting up and handling virtual web workshops
• Setting up and support the effective management of conference and other PMA events
• Workshop and Event Logistics (booking hotels, trains etc for facilitators)
• Manage stock control for events, conferences and exhibitions.
• Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order.
• Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems.
• Assist with communications/mailings to delegates, participants, speakers, potential sponsors and enquirers.
• Undertake various clerical and administrative tasks as requested. E.g., mailings, welcome pack, research, phone/email queries etc.

Skills and Knowledge:

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Capable of following a detailed brief.
 Event management skills

 PowerPoint skills
 Experience with online event delivery platforms such as MS Teams, GoToWebinar, Zoom and others
 Proficient use of grammatical and spelling rules of the English Language
 Quick and accurate reading skills
 IT and word processing skills
 Attention to detail.
 Ability to work as part of a team.
 Self-motivated and self-aware
 Flexible
 Ability to meet deadlines.

Since this position requires highly competent event management, research and some content creation it is likely the candidate will have a minimum of level 3 or equivalent in English and most likely experience at studying at foundation degree or degree level.
