2009: More Students than ever accepted onto UK university courses

High Demand for Uni Coursses!

More students than ever before were accepted for UK university courses in 2009 - but higher demand meant applicants' chance of a place fell.

According to the BBC more students were accepted onto UK university courses in 2009 than ever bfore! This high demand however meant that as an applicant you had far less chance of being accepted.

  • 481,854 applicants were accepted in 2009, which is 25,227 more in 2008 - a 5.5% increase.
  • The rate of acceptance however fell from 78% to 75%.
